Summary Statement
The Apheresis Center Coordinator reports to the Medical Services Manager and will be responsible for performing all clerical duties related to the efficient, safe, and compliant collection of stem cell products. Will work collaboratively as a member of the team and in alignment with the values of the organization.
Education
Minimum High School Diploma or GED; college degree preferred. Education and/or experience in healthcare preferred.
Responsibilities
- Receives workup requests and other documents for donor collection.
- Acts as a liaison between Gift of Life and NMDP donors, physicians, donor centers, and registries.
- Coordinates donor physical exam date, injections, and collection date with the Apheresis Center, registries, physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistant.
- Effectively communicates all aspects of the coordination with all parties involved.
- Email, fax and/or distribute donor documents.
- Prepares documents and donor charts.
- Ensures accurate completion and timely submissions of data collection forms into MatchQuest and FormsNet.
- Follows internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)and external regulations when performing assigned duties.
- Communicates pertinent information effectively and in a timely way. Brings issues to the attention of leadership as necessary.
- Assists and supports other team members.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Maintains complete and accurate records, including apheresis charts.

Physical Demands
This position is basically sedentary with some walking, standing, stooping, and lifting required. May lift objects weighing from 0 to 20 lbs. with occasional lifting of objects over 20 lbs.
